What we verify (and what we don't)
We confirm a poster's email address is real and reachable — they have to click a link in their inbox before a listing goes live. That's it. We don't verify anyone's identity, background, or the condition or authenticity of any book. Treat every exchange the way you would with any stranger from a classifieds site or community marketplace.
Exchanges are between you, not us
Bookhop Pune's only role is connecting a poster and an interested reader by email. We're not involved in arranging, completing, or overseeing any meetup, payment, or handover, and we have no way to know what actually happens after that email is sent. Anything agreed, exchanged, or paid is solely between the two of you.
A few basic safety habits
Meet in a public place where you can. You only ever need to share your email to get started — there's no reason to hand over more personal information than that. If you're paying for a book, only do it once you're comfortable with who you're meeting. If something feels off, trust that instinct and walk away — you can also report the listing so we can take a look.
No liability
Bookhop Pune, and the person who built and runs it, isn't responsible for any loss, dispute, scam, injury, or other problem arising from a listing, a connection made through the site, or an in-person exchange. Using the site means using your own judgement, at your own risk.
